THURSDAY 9/25/09
This morning was hair day and of course Lorraine had to re-arrange it. I had an appontment with the Urologist this afternoon. Said everything looked O.K. and in 6 months will have another scan. He laughed when I told him the Oncologist said I was within one tenth of a point of having to start dialysis. He said, " No way." Thanks for your comments Liz. As for the meals, the menu is sent here from Headquarters and the supplies are ordered there also, so the Cook can only do her best to make them edible. Don't spend any money on "Grub" as we won't make so much if we do. Talk about change--we old people don't like change. Last nite I was sitting here in my PJs ready for bed at 9, when the Aide came in for the trash. I went to the Office to see what was going on and they told me they were sorry, they weren't supposed to pick it up until 10. We have a trash can in the bedroom and that is all I need is someone coming in at 10 to wake us up to pick up trash. Nothing I can do since the Jailer has keys to our Cell and don't do any good to lock the door. Another change is our table for 6 is now for 4 so we have a small table now and we are "real chummy". With an Altzheimers man ( who can't remember which choice of a meal he should take even though they just told him what the choices are and it is also printed on the board) and an 80 year old "Old Maid" that hates football and the world in general, (she has been here 5 years and I probably will feel the same if I last that long)we have great conversations. Eat the icky food in silence and get the Hell out of there as fast as I can. Thank God Lorrraine only eats supper there. Did I "Bitch" enough for today?

ReplyDeleteI like the "Old Maid" who hates football and the world in general. With the economy as it is today, most of us regardless of age feel the same about the world in general, but probably not the football in general.
Very, very warm here today. Had to run to San Luis Obispo for an adjustment on my new glasses, and it was in the high 80's there. We have only 66 degree, but it feels more like 70's. Yesterday, we had heavy fog in the morning, then beautiful in the afternoon. This is the time of the year around here where you have to definitely layer your clothing wear.
Norm started her new diet she said...I need to do the same. When I saw the Reunion pictures of myself anyway. Must get out there and walk that beach.
Take care you guys, and we'll touch bases in a day or so. Much Love and Pink Hugs, Liz
