THURSDAY 4/09/09

Today was interesting. Lorrine was to get her hair done today and the Beauty Shop was closed. They were working on the drain in the kitchen so had sandwiches for lunch. Lorraine went for her dental appointment in the mobile dentist. It parks right outside the back door. It is a motorhome made into a dentist office. There is a chair in the front and one in the back complete with Xrays etc. The chair in the back was setup so Lorraine could put her power chair along side and lay it back and raise it up to work on her. All of the equipment is on swing arms that reached over her chair. There were 2 lady dentist working today. She took Xrays and Lorraine lost another tooth this morning that rotted off. She said she could pull the root since it had a sharp point on it. Everything went well until when she started. She worked and probed, used 3 different forceps and after an hour Lorraine was moaning and groaning so I asked what the problem was. The dentist said she just couldn't get it pulled. I told her to quit and we would find a real dentist. Scott Applegate pulled one that had rotted off in 5 minutes. The mobile dentist thing is a good idea if they only had dentists. She gave me an estimate of what she wanted to do and it was close to $4,000.00.
