WEDNESDAY 6/24/09

How can things change so fast? Yesterday Lorraine had such a good day and today was a nightmare. She was restless all day and no one could satisfy her. In fact the LPN got real disgusted with her. She started the morning with the Bowel movement thing and I guess she spent most of the night on the bedpan. Finally the Nurse said that was enough and got a Fleet enema. Lorraine wanted on the commode so they brought in a lift and the LPN tried to get her on the commode all be herself. What a catastrophe. First off she tried to put the sling under her upside down, didn't get it under her bottom far enough and picked her up and Lorraine was all doubled up. She finally got her on the commode and so crooked they had to bring in help to physically lift Lorraine up and straighten her up. Lot of good the enema did because in about an hour Lorraine was back on the bed pan. She is supposed to be released tomorrow and when I get her home I will try the Immodium AD. I talked to the Doc about that and he said as long as she didn't have runny diarrhea, he didn't want to do anything.
